Brand Identity Concept

Developed a brand identity concept for Black Advancement Coalition, a nonprofit focused on redistributing resources to advance Black communities. As one of three designers invited to explore distinct visual directions, I led the development of a concept centered on progress, unity, and collective power. The system introduced a primary logomark, supporting symbols, and a bold visual language grounded in protest imagery and cultural context. The identity was designed to scale across digital platforms, including social media and campaign materials, with applications extending into merchandise and community-driven touchpoints. Concept direction developed as part of a multi-designer exploration.

Project Moodboard

A visual exploration was developed to establish the emotional and cultural tone of the brand. Drawing from protest photography, archival imagery, and typographic statements, the moodboard captures themes of resistance, unity, and collective identity. The inclusion of bold monochrome compositions and a restrained use of purple introduced a sense of strength, urgency, and forward momentum, setting the foundation for the visual system.

Stairstep Symbol

The stairstep form represents upward movement and collective progress. It reflects a trajectory of advancement—moving beyond foundational barriers toward growth, opportunity, and long-term change. The geometric construction reinforces structure and stability, while the stepped progression signals a continuous rise driven by community effort.

Power Fist Symbol

The raised fist serves as a universal symbol of strength, resistance, and solidarity. Reinterpreted through a geometric lens, the mark balances boldness with clarity, creating an iconic and adaptable form. It functions as a visual anchor within the system, representing collective power and a shared commitment to progress.
